sick person is excused from normal social responsibilities and expectancies except to the extent that he/she is supposed to do whatever is necessary to get well (don't go to work); the sick person isn't held responsible for his/her condition and isn't expected to recover by an act of will; the sick person must recognize that being ill is undesirable and must want to recover and get better; the sick person is obligated to seek medical care to get better and cooperate with the advice of the designated experts
