Let L be the length of the box that the company aims to manufacture. With this representation, the width of the box is equal to L - 2 and the height is equal to L + 5. The volume of the box is equal to the product of the length, width, and height. That is,
                          A = L x (L - 2) x (L + 5) = 24

The value of L from the equation is 3 inches. 

The dimension of the box are as follow: 
length = L = 3 inches
width = L - 2 = 1 inch
height = L + 5 = 8 inches
