Tissues are groups of cells and the surrounding materials that work together to perform a particular function.
What are tissues?
A collection of cells with a comparable structure and function as a whole is referred to as a tissue.
The areas between the cells are filled with a nonliving substance known as the intercellular matrix.
There may be a lot of this in some tissues and not much in others.
A particular tissue may have special components in its intercellular matrix, such as fibres and salts, which are specific to that tissue and give it distinct properties.
The body is made up of four different types of tissue: epithelial, connective, muscular, and nerve.
Histology, or histopathology when referring to a disease, is the study of tissues.
