- Philosophical beliefs & values enhancement, empathy development & perspective broadening - make health professionals better apply their their clinical judgement.
- Therapeutic relationships are very important for patient's care. Cognitive abilities are central to establishment of these relationships. Prospective health specialists need to well understand their patient's state of mind & acknowledge it for their efficient treatment.
So, humanities is interdisciplinary in nature. Its learning with health sciences can help reconcile different views based on shared values. Personal example : I have been interested in teaching for a very long time, humanities studies has assisted me to understand student's psychology & behaviour, deal better with their learning & other issues, for best efficient results.
