Total equivalent resistance = 11.67 Ω

Part b)

Vт = Iт × Rт

28.8 = Iт  ×  11.67

Iт = 28.8/11.67

Iт = 2.47 A

Current in 12Ω :

12+6 = 18 Ω

= 12/18 × 2.47

= 1.65 A

Current in 6Ω :

= 6/18 × 2.47

= 0.82 A

Current in 5Ω :

= 2.47 A (as the current in a series circuit will be equal to the total current)

Current in 4Ω :

4+8 = 12 Ω

= 4/12 × 2.47

= 0.82 A

Current in 8Ω :

= 8/12 × 2.47

= 1.65 A
