y = (x - 6)² - 2
y = (x - 6)(x - 6) - 2
y = (x(x - 6) - 6(x - 6)) - 2
y = (x(x) - x(6) - 6(x) + 6(6)) - 2
y = (x² - 6x - 6x + 36) - 2
y = (x² - 12x + 36) - 2
y = x² - 12x + 36 - 2
y = x² - 12x + 34

easy, just expand
y=(x-6)^2-2
y=(x-6)(x-6)-2
y=x^2-6x-6x+36-2
y=x^2-12x+34
y=ax^2+bx+c
a=1
b=-12
c=34
